Day 16

Another full day at work managed to grab a lunch break and went to Alsace called Barlow Mere it's a small nature reserve just outside Selby. As seems usual these days it was grey and miserable but just as I was bout to give up the sky cleared a little bit and I managed to get almost the photo I wanted. The lake could have done with being still or I could have used a ND filter and gone for a long exposure but hey ho.

This challenge throws up awkward moments everyday at the moment I'm finding it quite difficult at the moment to think of things to take photos of and am aware of the oh that'll do and the got to take something photo. I guess I need to be less harsh on my self and just take a photo!

  1. Another nice photo Dad. I love how the water looks. I think you're starting to fall a bit into the trap of trying to take a "good" photo though. A lot of the thought process you're putting here is about the technical side of the shot.
I think if you try to approach photos from the other side it may open up more avenues for you to explore. Try making your photo's tell a story or ilicit some emotion from a viewer. Ask yourself what message you'd like to get across with your shot.
You've taken some really great photo's so far, but I'd say that only the shots of Wesley, the old man outside of H.Samuel and the multiexposure shot of you in the hotel are doing those things. So something to think about? Keep up the good work though!!
